should i get my bog on?

Thinking i might remove the knee pads from the tank and bog up the hole.
Don't really need them with the rear sets.  


Random, stripping the clear coat off the sprocket cover.  Strange guard and some form of foam behind it.

Cleaned up edges on the fender mounts...probably overkill, as soon as a rock hits it the edge will be ruined anyway.

Still tossing up if clear coating the fender is a good idea...stone chips might cause moisture to get under the clear and fk it up...at least if its raw i can just keep on polishing...dunno

Some polished bits

Blinker fork mounts, came up ok, might give them a proper polish...
i just stripped the paint of with a course wheel.

Front fender. still some small surface chips, but...ya get that.

It all came up pretty nice, i have actually hit it with this stuff since then:

its been a while...

I know its been a while...

But I'm back on the horse so to speak...my car broke, which sux balls, and I have been chasing prop shafts and haldex controllers like a mad man...if only I lived UK or Germany....

Anyways, have been stripping old clear coat and paint of bits and bobs made of aluminium, getting my polish on.

Will post some pics hopefully this arvo/evening.

Solution for starter motor removal!


Been thinking of ways to plug the eventual hole i will end up with in my crankcase when i remove my starter motor...

Got in touch with silverneck (http://w650shop.de/) in Germany; good guy, really helpful. He used to sell a starter removal kit (no longer available).  He was kind enough to send me an email with a photograph of his solution.  Essentially a bung held in place by 2 thread rods and a plate that screws down to the original starter motor mount points.

I toyed with the idea of tapping some holes and bolting up a blank, then thought of using silverneck's method, I just didn't like the idea of the 2 long thread bolts being there (see below).

...i could machine some out of brass and make em look all pretty...but...another option I heard about today;

"Welch plug".  I have never heard of these bad boys, having done some research, i know exactly what they are, here's a lil bit of trivia for ya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Core_plug

I'm thinking this should be pretty perfect...provided I can find one the right size :)

I know its been quiet...

so not many updates of late I know... work has been crazy, and trying to catch up on some jobs around the house...

So this week im taking the frame to a mates place to get the racers out of the head stem...gonna tig a bead along the inside edge to get them bitches out, in there pretty darn tight.

Also getting the tires off and de-lacing the wheels.

Sanded paint of my Daytona blinkers (really poor powedercoat on them...paint was just flaking off...).  Hit them with some wet and dry and then some autosol real quick. They look pretty nice, still unsure if i will keep them raw or paint em.

It all really comes down to the colours i go with, will have to get into photoshop soon and play with some colours.
